    at a glance

At Blatt Billiards, our mission is to provide our customers the old-world billiards pastime experience with superb quality and pride. We do this by virtue of our three core principles: superior craftsmanship, extraordinary customer service and our attention to billiard industry traditions and standards.

Blatt Billiards was founded in 1923 during the height of the billiard era. Pool halls flourished and their tables needed servicing. Who would they turn to? Blatt Billiards. Eventually, Blatt Billiards evolved into the manufacturing of fine custom billiard tables and accessories, which has been our specialty ever since.

In 2014, Blatt Billiards moved locations. The store and showrooms moved to 330 West 38th Street, New York, NY. Manufacturing, warehouse and additional showrooms moved to 350 S. Main Street, Wood-Ridge, NJ.

At Blatt Billiards, we manufacture our products with the old world craftsmanship style in a modern mass produced age. Here, we continue to handcraft custom pool tables the way they were crafted over a century ago. We machine, work and finish all our products in-house. As a family owned business spanning 3 generations, we would love to give you a tour of our facilities, show you who we are and what we are all about. Please call us at 1-800-252-8855 with any and all comments, questions or concerns. It is our pleasure to serve you and the billiards industry.

    The Blatt Team

    Look back to
    the beginning

Stuck in a time warp to a by-gone era, Blatt Billiards, is a rare find for someone looking for old-world craftsmanship in our modern, fast-paced, computer driven world. Using a combination of new and old equipment, some tools made by hand specifically for a particular task, Blatt Billiard’s craftsmen create works of art that are never duplicated.

It was the Roaring Twenties; the money and the speakeasy-booze were flowing as freely as the Colorado River. F. Scott Fitzgerald was soaking up the nightlife that would later become the cornerstone of his master- piece, The Great Gatsby. New York City had more than 2,000 pool hall parlors. That was the era into which Blatt Billiards was born. In 1923, the company began crafting pool cues and billiard balls by hand, establishing the foundation of the company that is now known throughout the world as the finest manufacturer of handcrafted custom billiard tables.

Blatt Billiards serviced and supplied the numerous New York area pool halls during the economic highs of the 1920’s as well as the lows that followed during the Great Depression. The company survived with a hard work ethic while remaining frugal.

Blatt helped its loyal customers stay in business during the depression by cleaning and reversing the surface cloth – for a fee of five dollars, payable over time if needed. The loss of the male customer base brought on by the war caused most of New York’s pool halls to close. Blatt Billiards was next put in a position to accumulate a vast collection of pool tables, bought from these World War II bankrupted pool hall owners.

Blatt Billiards accumulated the largest collection of antique pool tables in the world. By restoring this vast collection of old-masterpieces, the correct construction techniques that were long passed over for quicker construction methods were exposed by Blatt’s quality.

Blatt Billiards embraced the strength and artistry of the old masters and adopted many of these old world techniques as its own brand. Blatt Billiards became the premier designer and builder of pool tables which delivers unique custom products all over the world.

In 2014, Blatt Billiards opened its newest store at 330 West 38th street and moved its manufacturing to Wood-Ridge, New Jersey. Its new, larger New York showroom displays 65 pool tables, including contemporary, antique tables, Blatt’s own custom crafted tables, the new Blatt Broadway semi-custom lineup, and the largest selection of pool cues from the finest makers in the country. Blatt is, in fact, the 2nd oldest Brunswick retailer in America. It is Brunswick that established the billiard business in America in 1845; and many of the antique tables that Blatt owns are old masterpieces manufactured by Brunswick in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. The new West-side store features an exclusive collection of museum quality lighting fixtures, perfect for the most discriminating billiard room.

Blatt’s new state-of-the-art manufacturing in Wood-Ridge, New Jersey enables the company to create its treasures more efficiently; still, using the same time-honored techniques that have distinguished Blatt Billiards from all other pool table makers. Also at the Wood-Ridge facility is Blatt’s warehouse housing nearly 3,000 antique pool tables, modern pool tables and a company retail store.

Architects, designers and connoisseurs of the game have been acquiring the finest pool tables from us for more than 91 years.
