Lighting a Table the Right Way

A great table can be ruined by bad light. Shadows across the rails, glare off the cloth, a hot spot in the middle, and darkness at the corners; players notice immediately, even if they can't name what's wrong.

We've been building tables since 1923, and lighting has always been part of the job. Our pool table light fixtures are made to do one thing well: put clean, even light across the entire playing surface without blinding anyone at the far rail.

Two Collections

Custom Billiard Lights

Built to order in our shop. Match the wood, the finish, and the detailing to your table, or to the room around it. For clubs, hotels, and institutional spaces where the fixture needs to belong to the architecture, not fight it.

  • Wood species and finish matched to your table
  • Custom lengths for 7', 8', and 9' tables
  • Shade materials from stained glass to hand-finished hardwood
  • Logo and branding work available
  • Antique-inspired or fully contemporary styling

Production Billiard Lights

Ready-made fixtures across a wide range of styles and price points. Same lighting performance, shorter lead time. Good for multi-table rooms and projects with a fixed budget.

The Halo Billiards Light - Blatt Billiards

Choosing the Right Pool Table Light Fixture

  • Table size: The fixture should span most of the playing surface. A short light on a 9' table leaves the corners dark.
  • Pool table light height: Hang the bottom of the shade roughly 32–36 inches above the cloth. Higher spreads the light and adds glare; lower gets in the way of a raised cue.
  • Ceiling height: Tall ceilings need longer drops or chain. Low ceilings need a shallower fixture; tell us your measurement, and we'll narrow the options.
  • Room style: Traditional wood shades for classic rooms, clean metal or glass for modern ones.
  • Bulb type: LED runs cool and cheap over time. Some rooms want warmer incandescent tone. Both work.

Why Blatt for Billiard Lighting

We build the tables too. That means we know how a hanging pool table light behaves over a real playing surface, not just how it looks in a catalog photo.

Over 100 years in the trade. Hand craftsmanship, honest materials, no shortcuts.

Real people on the phone. Send us your ceiling height, table size, and room photos. We'll tell you what works and what doesn't.

Installation handled. Our technicians hang and align the fixture so the light lands where it should.

Working With Organizations

Clubs, hotels, museums, and retail spaces buy differently than homeowners. We handle volume orders, matched sets across multiple tables, spec documentation, and coordinated installation timelines.
